If you haven’t heard by now, there are two internet censorship bills making their way through Congress. The so-called Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the PROTECT-IP Act would set a dangerous precedent for censorship and government control of the internet. It could potentially shut down sites like this one.
Find out more here or at this tumblr. Then sign the official White House petition and then visit the American Censorship Day site.
Even if you aren’t an American citizen, this could affect you and the sites you love! Go to the sites listed above to find out what you can do.
Protect the Net and keep the net free of government controls!

My Dear Tumblr,

Okay so, SOPA.

First of all, it’s unconstitutional.

Second, can you imagine what that would to do our economy? Our society thrives on social media. The removal of it would send just about every market down the drain.

“Fuck off, Hollywood!”

To everyone talking about Google going against SOPA;

fluffer-nutter:

they have a representative at the congress session right now

they are pretty much the only one AT the session against it

VIACOM and others are endorsing the senate (lobbying) to get them to pass it in their favor

but the best part about them being against it? Google has openly said they will not comply with the new bill.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE GOOGLE.
